April 28th: Mission Photo Walk

Greetings California Educators! OC CUE and Discovery Education invite you to grab your cameras (or camera phone). It’s time for a Spring PhotoWalk.  Your “Mission” should you decide to accept it is to visit a California Mission in your area. Meet with your local CA-DEN members and, with cameras in hand, photograph your mission noting particular subjects that depict mission life, artifacts, and architecture that make that mission unique.

PhotoWalks will begin at 9 am. After touring and photographing the mission, we will meet at a local eating establishment to share, upload and tag photos. The goal is that by the end of the day we will create a resource that students and teachers can use in their lessons and projects.

Annual OCCUE Tech Fest a Success!

The annual tech fest was held this past Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Mater Dei high school. Despite the gloomy skies, hundreds of edtech devotees turned out to learn and share ideas, projects, tips, and student work. A great day was had and the keynote presentation by Rushton Hurley of Nextvista.org was inspiring. Our unofficial photographer, Bob Barboza of Kids Talk Radio captured some highlights of the day

We hope you'll join us next January as we move locations to Serra Catholic School in Rancho Santa Margarita.
