WHAT IS CUE?
Computer-Using Educators, Inc. is a nonprofit educational association
founded in 1978. CUE's goal is to advance student achievement through
technology in all disciplines from preschool
through college. With an active current membership of thousands of
educational professionals, CUE supports many regional affiliates and
Special Interest Groups. CUE Conferences are California’s premier
educational technology events. CUE is the largest organization of its
type in the west and one of the largest in the United States.

ACTIVITIES
- Supporting a network of geographically-defined affiliates
in California. Affiliates provide CUE members with local year-round
support through meetings, grants, events and mini-conferences.
- Operating seven Special Interest Groups: Administrators, eLearning, Library
Media Educators, Teacher Educators, Technology Coordinators, Independent
Schools and Video in the Classroom.
- Maintaining staff and operating programs on an annually-audited
budget principally derived from its membership and events. CUE's
operations are not dependent upon support from public or private
funding.
- Maintaining an active advocacy program. Sponsor of the SB 1510
and the Digital High School Initiative. Most recently, CUE has
sponsored both SB 1006 and SJR8 (Chapter 95) EETT Restoration
Resolution. Both of these passed the State Legislature.
- Planning and presenting the CUE Conference each year, the oldest
(over 25 years) and largest Educational Technology conference in
California.
- Annually recognizing its members' contributions to CUE with its Gold Disk.
- Recognizing outstanding education technology leaders with its Platinum Disk.
- Recognizing community leadership with its Site Leader of the Year, Technology in Learning Leadership and Outstanding Teacher Awards.
- Publishing its quarterly journal, OnCUE.
- Actively participating in global technology issues via
affiliation with the International Society for Technology in Education
(ISTE). CUE was an early ISTE organizational affiliate and remains among
the largest.
- Co-sponsoring the California Student Media Festival, California Student Technology Showcase and other projects.
- Providing on-site professional development through CUEtoYOU programs.
- Supporting cutting-edge learning technologies and student expression through the Student Voices podcast.
- Producing the Educational Symposium at Macworld.
- Co-presenting the CLMS/CLHS/NHSA Technology Conference.
- Producing the Leadership 3.0 Symposium with ACSA and TICAL.
- Providing benefits to its membership, including myCUE online benefits.
